From the First Patent to Global Success:
The GEBO History

WE ARE INVENTORS

... and has been doing so since 1936. That was when the product was developed and patented that is still synonymous today with time- and cost-saving installation in building services engineering: the malleable iron clamp connector. It enables steel pipes to be connected without welding or thread cutting.
1918–1987
1918 – The origin: Gebr. Elspermann
Gustav Elspermann founds the Elspermann company as a pipe trading business in Bochum. The company is soon renamed Gebr. Elspermann.
1936 – GEBO malleable cast iron compression fittings
The patent for the first GEBO malleable cast iron compression fitting marks the beginning of an era of high-quality, problem-free pipe connections – without welding or thread cutting.

1979 – GEBO Armaturen GmbH

GEBO Armaturen GmbH is founded in Schwelm, Germany. First storage is being build.

1987 – GEBO Iberica 

The Spanish company GEBO Iberica is founded as the first subsidiary of GEBO Armaturen GmbH.

1918–1987

Gustav Elspermann founds the Elspermann company as a pipe trading business in Bochum. The company is soon renamed Gebr. Elspermann.

1936 – GEBO malleable cast iron compression fittings
The patent for the first GEBO malleable cast iron compression fitting marks the beginning of an era of high-quality, problem-free pipe connections – without welding or thread cutting.

1979 – GEBO Armaturen GmbH
GEBO Armaturen GmbH is founded and is still based in Schwelm, Germany, today. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consetetur sadipscing elitr, sed diam nonumy eirmod tempor invidunt ut labore et dolore magna aliquyam erat, sed diam voluptua.

1987 – GEBO Iberica

The Spanish company GEBO Iberica is founded as the first subsidiary of GEBO Armaturen GmbH.

The gebooriginal product group - cast iron compression fitting for pipe repairs is launched, which remains a very important part of the product portfolio to this day.

1993–1996
GEBO Technika production facility building in Poland – manufacturing headquarters of GEBO Group
GEBO subsidiary in Hungary – local pipe fitting support and sales
1993 – GEBO Italia
The second subsidiary is being established in Italy under the leadership and management of Mr. Manzardo.
1993 – GEBO Poland
With the founding of GEBO Poland, we relocated our German production to Poland, establishing it as the central manufacturing hub and the operational heart of the GEBO Group.

1995 – GEBO Hungary
We established GEBO Hungary to create a central base for serving the South and East European markets and to adapt to local market requirements through coordinated sales activities, technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the regional markets.

1996 – GEBO France
We established GEBO France in 1996 to enter one of Europe's most important markets for sanitary engineering and industry, supporting customers with local expertise, market-specific solutions and close cooperation with distribution partners.

1993–1996
1993 – GEBO Italia
The second subsidiary is being established in Italy under the leadership and management of Mr. Manzardo.

The innovative stainless steel sealing tapes gebounifix are being launched on the market for the first time. They are used for easy and secure sealing of holes, cracks, and porous areas.

1997–2001
1997 – GEBO Bohemia
We established GEBO Bohemia in the Czech Republic in 1997 to build a strong local presence in a rapidly developing industrial market and to support customers with direct access to our products, application expertise and responsive service.
1998 – geboquick
The geboquick product range is launched. The universal cast iron compression fittings are suitable for connecting sections in water installations. 

2000 – geboinox
With geboinox, high-quality high-pressure couplings are being launched on the market in France.

2001 – GEBO South-East Europe
GEBO Hungary is renamed GEBO South Eastern Europe (GSEE).

1997–2001
1997 – GEBO Bohemia

We established GEBO Bohemia in the Czech Republic in 1997 to build a strong local presence in a rapidly developing industrial market and to support customers with direct access to our products, application expertise and responsive service.

1998 – geboquick
The geboquick product range is launched. The universal cast iron compression fittings are suitable for connecting sections in water installations. 

2000 – geboinox
With geboinox, high-quality high-pressure couplings are being launched on the market in France.
2001 – GEBO South-East Europe
GEBO Hungary is renamed GEBO South Eastern Europe (GSEE).

2005–2009

2005 – gebofittings Regular
In order to further expand our product portfolio and offer users even more GEBO solutions, gebofittings regular is being added to our product portfolio.
2006 – gebounisolid

2007 – gebodrain
Our gebodrain is being launched in Spain and France as a solution for drains and gutters.

2009 – Renaming of GEBO Polska
GEBO Polska has been renamed to GEBO Technika International GTI (marketing & sales) and GTE (production & central warehouse).

2005–2009
2005 – gebofittings Regular
In order to further expand our product portfolio and offer users even more GEBO solutions, gebofittings regular is being added to our product portfolio.

2006 – gebounisolid
The gebounisolid cast iron fitting product range for underground installation in steel, cast iron, and fiber cement pipes is launched.

2007 – gebodrain
Our gebodrain is being launched in Spain and France as a solution for drains and gutters.

As pioneers, we are launching geboliquid, a liquid sealant for use in heating systems.

2010–2016
2010 – gebonipple 
With gebonipple, double pipe nipples and sleeves made of galvanized or black steel are being launched on the market.
